Staff Selection Commission
Staff Selection commission
(SSC) is an organization
under Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Established on 4 Nov, 1975.
Formerly it is known as Subordinate Service Commission. On 26 Sept, 1977 it is
renamed as Staff Selection Commission. Its function is to recruitment for the various
posts under Govt. of India.
The Staff Selection
Commission has its Headquarters at New Delhi and at present it has seven
regional offices in Allahabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guawahati , Chennai,
Bangalore and two Sub-Regional Offices at Raipur and Chandigarh.

Function of
SSC
Function of SSC is to
make recruitment for the various posts of group B (non gazetted) and group C
and D in the various departments and ministries under Government of India and
Sub Ordinates offices.

- Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL).
- Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSL).
- Recruitment of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, CAPFs and Asst. Sub Inspector in CISF.
- Junior Engineer (civil, mechanical, electrical) Examination.
- Multi-Tasking Staff ( non Technical )
